In my work, I support hope and self-determination as my clients apply their abilities in pursuit of their therapeutic goals and well being. Therapy is a collaborative process in which I use a compassionate person-centered approach and various evidence-based methods to address each individual’s needs.
These include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Mindfulness, Somatic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Where applicable, I interweave psychotherapy with Expressive Arts Therapy.
My practice’s name refers to Walt Whitman’s poem, “Song of Myself” in which he related to the “untranslatable” in a hawk’s cry. Creative self-expression can give rise to insight and provide a path to healing and greater self-acceptance.
Whether you are here for talk therapy or experiential creative work, I provide a safe space for you to confront life’s challenges and receive therapeutic support.
